Summary:
When his nephew, Caleb Saunders, disappears, Joe Saunders decides that he needs to return to Dark Hills.  This is the childhood home he left when he entered the service and never returned.  He left behind a girlfriend, Maggie Gill, with no explanation.  Maggie was now the Chief of Police, just like her father and his father before him.

He returned to Dark Hills when his brother, Rick, died 10 years’ earlier.  He should have stayed and helped his sister-in-law, Rosa, but he basically stayed for the funeral and left.  Now she needed his help with Caleb and, this time, he was going to stay.

With rumors spreading about a lion or wolf roaming the woods of Dark Hills, Joe discovers a secret that has been hidden for 30 years.  Now he needs to find out if his faith is strong enough to battle the demonic forces behind the deadly code of silence.

Opinion:
I liked this book because it was a very fast-paced, easy-reading, suspenseful, drama.  Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t put it down, literally.  I really liked Rosa, Caleb’s mother, and her strong faith.  She stayed by Caleb’s bed 24/7 constantly praying and reading him the Bible.  She just knew that Joe was going to find his way back to God.  Even though this was an inspirational fiction book, the religion was not over-whelmng.  I’m looking forward to reading other books by this author.
